Bluff Begone

If you’ve ridden the Wharfedale over recent years, you will have come across  one of a couple of significant (unrideable, for the majority) bluffs. This week we’ve changed that…

We’ve gone through the middle of the, first of two, bluffs and now made it rideable with less risk of that “certain injury or worse” fall on the other side. A big part of our work in the Wharfedale, as much as maintenance, has also been about working on areas with a steep drop-off and endeavouring to keep people on the trail as much as possible!

  1. Dumbing down the trail. Sorry but that’s just not cool. Taking all the fun little bits out of it and make yet another bloody boring highway…

    1. I can see how you may have reached that conclusion from the photos; however, suggest you go and ride it, look at the potential consequences of a fall at those sections and then come back and let us know what you think. This is a track administered by DoC and they have certain standards which need to be meet… On an aside, as a Contractor, I do what my clients ask of me (usually following some healthy discussion).

  2. Props to T5 for all the hard work you do!
Ignore the naysayer. I’d rather not put myself in jeopardy. The track looks great!

  3. Looks great that was a tricky spot and not rideable anyway unless you are a trials champ, nice work, trip up there on the cards.
