T5 = Tip Top Trails and Tricky Trenches…

…most of what we do revolves around our specialty, creating and maintaining Tip Top Trails, primarily for mountain biking. Our name is T5, though, so Tricky Trenches is a part of this also.

We’ve been working with the crew at the Christchurch Gondola to unearth a water pipe under their cable-line at the base area. This is definitely one time when we have had to live up to our name, this has been one very Tricky Trench! Aside from the fact we were working around high-pressure water pipes and a sewer pipe, we were working right under the gondola for everyone to see…as well as working on the steepest slope our Little Yellow Digger has dealt with…and deal with it, she did! Some tricky manoeuvring, balancing and a fair amount of deep breaths kept the SV08 on the job. A fair amount of hand digging was also required to locate a couple of couplings on the underground pipes…

Did we say it was steep ground?
